All orders are conditional upon the purchaser’s agreement to the terms and conditions in this document.

We, our, us, Volker Haug Studio and Volker Haug, means Volker Haug Pty Ltd.

These terms and conditions supersede any prior agreements or correspondence between the purchaser and Volker Haug.

Volker Haug reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of sale without notice.

Non-standard features or finishes may incur surcharges.

Any specific electrical requirements must be indicated. 

All non-standard specifications must be expressly detailed when placing an order and may incur additional charges or increase lead time.

The client must ensure the size of the ordered product is appropriate to their need. 

Clear access must be provided to the site for all deliveries and installations. 

Volker Haug is not responsible for inadequate calculations of architectural features including rooms, doorways, elevators and stairs.

All drawings, dimensions, samples, descriptive matter and specifications are intended as a guide only. 

Volker Haug reserves the right to change, alter or modify the design, dimensions, or construction of any item without prior written notice.

Confirmation will be forwarded to you in acknowledgement of your order.

Production begins soon after orders are placed and any changes to design or specifications may not be possible after confirmation of your order has been sent.

We will provide you with an estimated delivery time upon confirmation of your order.

Lead times are an estimate and commence upon receipt of deposit payment.

Whilst we will make every effort to achieve nominated delivery dates, delays do not constitute a breach of contract and Volker Haug is in no way liable for any resulting damages.

Standard orders have a 2-4 week lead time.

Custom order lead times will be discussed in advance and provided with your quotation.

If there is a problem fulfilling your order within the designated lead time we will contact you within this period.

Full payment must be received for all projects and orders prior to the commencement of works.

At our discretion, we may accept a deposit to commence works. This deposit is non-refundable.

Balance due prior to dispatch. No goods will be dispatched before full payment has been received. 

All goods remain the property of Volker Haug until payment is received in full. 

Deposits and payments made via electronic transfer or cheque must reference the Volker Haug invoice number. Please forward proof of electronic deposits via post or email.

A late payment fee of 2% calculated monthly shall be applied to any late invoice amount. A payment is deemed late 14 days after the request for the final payment is made.

A storage fee of 1% of the value of goods per month or $100 per week (whichever is higher) is payable for any goods which cannot be shipped due to client-related delays.

Payments made by Visa or Mastercard will attract a 0.5% surcharge.

Estimated delivery date will be provided on dispatch.

Volker Haug will not be liable for any shipping or delivery delays.

Volker Haug will not be liable for any courier mishandling or damage, however all shipments will be covered by our marine insurance policy while in transit.

Clients must inspect goods at the time of receipt. 

Any damage must be documented and noted on any delivery docket.

All packaging must be retained in the event of any damaged goods.

Photographic proof of damage must be forwarded by email to Volker Haug within 24 hours of the receipt of goods.

Volker Haug will not accept notification of any damages reported after this time.

Any additional freight charges that accrue after dispatch will be passed on to the client.

Clients will be responsible for all import duties and taxes.

Volker Haug will not be liable for any customs related delays.

Orders must be delivered to an address where someone will be present during business hours to sign for the delivery. Anyone at the delivery address who receives and signs for the goods shall be presumed to be authorized to do so on behalf of the purchaser.

If there is no one at the delivery address at the time of delivery, alternative arrangements will need to be made directly with the carrier.

Deliveries will occur between 9am-6pm Monday to Friday. Exact times cannot be given.

Arrangements may be made for the collection of orders from Volker Haug Studio in Brunswick East, Melbourne, Australia. 

All Volker Haug fittings are handmade and individually finished. This will result in minor variations in the appearance (including colour, form and finish) of the final product, including materials (brass, copper, steel, aluminium, timber, marble, stone, ceramic, glass, plastic, rubber etc) and processes (bronzing/patination, anodising, painting, sandblasting, enamelling, powder coating, lacquering, glazing etc).

Slight variations in appearance are to be expected and will not be accepted as a fault or reason for return.

Some finishes will change over time, this includes patination of unlacquered brass and other metals.

Colours and finishes as viewed on digital and printed sources are representative only and may not appear identical to final products.

We will not generally offer a refund if you change your mind.

Any offer of refund will be made at the discretion of Volker Haug.

The maximum refund for returned goods is 50% of the total cost of the goods. Transport costs will not be refunded.

Any request for returns must be made within 7 days of receipt of goods. 

Goods will only be accepted for return if they are in the same condition as they were upon leaving the Volker Haug studio.

Orders may only be cancelled in writing within 48 hours of order placement.

A 50% restocking fee will be levied on non-custom orders cancelled within this time frame.

No refund will be given on custom orders (including custom colours and configurations or non-standard specified items).

Electrical components including lamps may go out of stock or change from time to time.

All lamps are individually checked before dispatch to ensure correct functionality. Volker Haug is not responsible for any damage which occurs once lamps have left the studio, including during transport. 

Volker Haug reserves the right to cancel any order at any time for whatever reason, in which case all payments will be refunded.

All light fittings will be covered by a 2-year warranty against any defective or faulty work, which will be repaired or replaced at Volker Haug Studio’s expense. 

Warranty period commences on date of delivery of the initial purchase.

Repair and replacement timing will be subject to production schedules.

LED lamps come with a 2-year replacement warranty. While lamps have an average lamp life indicated, this is not guaranteed.

We are not responsible for damages caused by: improper installation or assembly; improper cleaning solutions or methods; improper use or installation of light bulbs; exposure to weather or improper environment; or inappropriate positioning.

We will not be responsible for: any costs of installation, removal or reinstallation; restoration or repair work; or any parts purchased separately from our light fixtures.

Purchaser is solely responsible for compliance with all laws, ordinances, regulations, rules and standards relating to the installation, maintenance, use and operation of the products.

This document is given in addition to consumer guarantees and cannot exclude these rights.

To the extent permitted by law, the purchaser agrees that any liability of Volker Haug arising out of or in connection with any breach of any express or implied warranty or condition in respect of goods or services supplied to the purchaser through Volker Haug will be limited to: 

if the condition relates to goods, the replacement of the goods or the supply of equivalent goods; and 

if the condition relates to services, the supplying of the services again or the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again. 

The purchaser agrees that the entire risk arising out of installation and use of products remains with the purchaser. To the extent permitted by law, the purchaser agrees to release and discharge Volker Haug from all forms of direct, special, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including loss of profits, loss of data or loss or damage that may reasonably have been supposed to have been in the contemplation of the parties as at the date of this agreement) arising out of or in connection with Volker Haug or this agreement, including, without limitation, loss or damage caused by the negligence of Volker Haug or its related corporations. 

To the extent permitted by law, Volker Haug does not accept any liability whatsoever for the goods ordered and/or any loss or damage incurred by any person in relation to an order once it has been received by the courier for delivery.

Quotations and pro-forma invoices are valid for 30 days only unless expressly noted.

Prices on all quotes and invoices are for the listed goods only; any freight, handling, control gear or installation terms must be separately stated.

Product catalogue prices are subject to change without prior notice.

Any variation in quantity, specifications or delivery instructions will require a revised quote.

All pricing is exclusive of Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST).

GST is not charged for goods that are shipped outside of Australia.

All components to be supplied are listed on the quote or invoice. Any additional components must be arranged by the client and may be subject to additional charges.

Any written quotation will supersede all prior correspondence in relation to your order (verbal, written or otherwise).
